PassoverEasterDogFestCookie!

A cookie baking, dog nuzzling, hair flying, egg poaching, coffee drinking, tv watching, makeup applying, more yummy-thing eating, more tv watching, hug giving, love sharing and treat getting, weekend ensued. What total fun! Mom's Palm Dez house is quaint, pretty, spacious and filled with sweet, loving animals. Hula and I had the best time!

New Hair

It's true! I got the Japanese Hair Straightening done! It's so exciting! It takes so long- 4.5 hours, all told.

Before even making the appointment, you go in for consultation, to see if you have hair fit for the process. The best kind of hair is not TOO curly or kinky, also not processed. Pretty much what I have.

The appointment was-

*wash hair
*blow dry
*put on chemical that opens pores of hair
*put plastic wrap on head, sit under dryer for approx 20ish minutes
*wash off treatment
*TWO people blow dry hair
*flat iron hair into smooth texture
*put on chemical that makes hair stay straight
*wash off chemical with just water
*apply conditioner- set for couple of minutes
*wash off with just water
*blow dry hair
*flat iron
*very small trim

VOILA!

i bought some conditioners for the after effects. i have to not wash my hair and not put it in a pony or anything else that shapes it, for 3 days. no probs.

it's so shiny and pretty! the upkeep is just when the roots grow out. approx every 8- 10mos.

wow!

Sesa + Hula + Tally + Wedding = Vegas!

Okay, so we're not ALL getting married, but maybe we should! No, no... it's the wedding of my dear friend Lauren, plus a get-away weekend for Sela, Hula and me! It'll be my first road-trip with Sela AND with Hula! We're staying at Alexis Park, which is doggy friendly (of course) and to commemorate my plans to lay by the pool at least 45minutes, I've designed a necklace to wear with a swim suit I've yet to buy. Should I go bikini? Sela is. I'm scared! And WOW I'm white.

Wheat Bread
Nutella
Peanut Butter
Sliced thin- granny smith apples

SO YUM.

Why would I have a Vanilla Latte...

At like 7pm, after a nap? It's 11:10 and I'm about as tired as a meth addict.

This is my Lula Bell, who now goes into the hallway, and finds her way to the sunny spot that arrives in the morning. I put her bed there, but at time of piccy, she didn't seem too interested in it.

In other hilarious and adorable news, my neighbor, Rebecca and I, have purchased door stops, and keep our doors open during the day. Hula ADORES this woman (she is indeed very loveable) and runs back and forth between our places, all day long. Sometimes I don't see her here and say "is she over there?" to which Rebecca will reply "yes." Hula, I'm quite sure, thinks the entire building is her home.

In other news, I made these. Friggen G-R-E-A-T! Ghirardelli cookie recipe plus added trail mix and cocoa powder. Yum!

I'd go the whole wide world to find out where they hide her...

I watched Stranger Than Fiction last night.

It was incredibly sweet. A friend of mine, with exceptionally great taste, recommended it to me. I resisted a bit, but NetFlixed it. The female interest is an adorable baker who wants to make the world a better place, through treats. Last night, I did my part.

Hello, I'm a Bridesmaid

It's impossibly true and sad, that MYSPACE had to bring us together... My b-f-f from high school is getting married, and I'm one of her maids! This means, I'm told, if the evil spirits come to consume her, us maids serve to confuse said spirits, with similar perfumes and hairdos. However, apparently this dress also doubles as Italia's Tattoo Show, so it's likely the bride-eating-evils will know I'm NOT the "one." All malevolent spirits aside, how adorable am I in this piece? Not to mention how my model-like poses are slicker than kung fu!

Awesome Snackage

TRAIL MIX MUFFS

The muffins are quite dense, but really tasty. They don't puff up, so how you put them in the tins, is pretty much how they turn out, so make em purdy. Super good for breakfast.

1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Dry Mix

3/4 cup brown sugar
2 cup flour,
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups trailmix

1. Preheat oven to 400 F
2. Thoroughly combine the wet mix ingredients.
3. Combine the dry mix ingredients and mix thoroughly into the wet mix.
4. Spoon into pans and bake for 20-25 mins.

Yes, this is actually a snack I was eating. A bite from each treat! That's right... I'm 25% guts, 25% adorable and 50% high fructos corn syrup.

Easy Breezy Iced Coffee

1c coffee, totally cooled
3tbsp honey
1tbsp creamer
good ice cubes- make them with something other than tap water (ick)

The hardest part of making homemade iced coffee, is sweetening it. The trick is to heat the honey for about 10 seconds, pour it into the coffee, add the ice cubes and top with creamer. It's the succession of additions that makes it perf.

Ringing... ringing... ringing on...

I took this pickey of my living room, at a pretty time of day. I thought the Pellegrino made the scene kind of romantic.

Went to Eric's today, to wait for eleventy pounds of furniture. Wow his mom ordered him a lot of shtuff. I spent the day doing almost nothing for biz but a whole lot for THIS! I'm uber-geeked on it and have been inviting "friends" like I'm planning a Hollywood wedding. Even figured out the damn template thingie, to make it look F-R-E-S-H. I just haven't had a break from workey in a long time, so it's almost like my psyche took time off without my permission.

Now you know I'm READY!

You're Speakin My Language, Baby.

I might have gotten this lil beauty, just the other day. Ordered it online, so sadly, I couldn't see how cheaply it was made. Boo for crazy-flimsy plastic. However, it does sound none-too-bad and wasn't too, too pricey ($120 with shipping + tax). I've been wanting a player for at least 600 years, since I sold this other one I had. It's amazing to listen to sweet Johnny and Billie again. Plus so many more I missed...

I also watched this leetle number, for a few days, while her mommy was in Mexico. She and Hula get along fine. She's quite a number, though! A sweet girl, but wow, she needs to walk, play, eat, poop and have fun!

Not like leetle Hula-Loo who is content fetching the fluffy bone a few times and sleeping most of the day away. It was fun to walk a little more though. Cute to have a new energy in the house.

I did this to my Firefox:

It's one hundred and ten percent AWESOME.

Shnorgen Florgh!

I just really like the way this picture turned out. The spine is kind of cool. I've been really happy working with my hands and developing this line. Sometimes I get so excited about the metals, I want to hold them closely and give them a smooch. I've tried. It's very hard to hug a chain.

I watched Clerks 2. I went totally mad for it. Haven't heard one other person agree with me. I totally fucking adored the first Clerks, so maybe that's part of it. It just felt like... probably exactly what it was supposed to feel like- a mature version of the first. At any rate, I can't seem to part with it. NetFlix, you will allow me a copy of Clerks 2 for as long as I see fit! Obey my wishes you DVD renting mischief maker! Oh my... I feel like a sleepy.

FIRST Club

Shame AND pride fill me, when I tell the story of the FIRST Club...

One of my best friends, Sela, is touched. Simply, there are two of her and her alternate personality is one in which she's 40, eats vanilla fudge for breakfast, because it fights cancer, has 3 untamed boys who don't pay attention to the fact that their whites are brighter because she got a Baking Soda Tip, does crossword puzzles with the names of Soap Opera stars and giggles over pictures of kittens hissing at fuzzy ducks.

This mid-aged, mid-American woman subscribes to FIRST Magazine For Women and well... my new (her old) friend Rachel, Margarie, er, uh, Sela and I are making a monthly event of the arrival of said subscription. And how better to commemorate? Cupcakes. Cupcakes with FC written in pink icing, no less.

That's right- PINK ICING. I defy you to come up with a better treat to bring to such an event.
