Great things!

Big girl harness... Hula-boo had to up-size! We went to a (human) dentist appointment and afterwards... with girls fawning all over Hula-girl, Mister Dentist man said "oh no, her harness is too tight! She must get a bigger one!" So we upgraded. Now it fits over Hula's dresses and well... best of all, her Hula-belly!

3 Coffees, 3 Days

So I decided to partake in the holidays this year by consuming new flavors of caffeine drinks. Truly, that's about all I've got in meh. I ran the gamut of Starbucks lattes in this order:

Mint Mocha
Eggnog
Gingerbread

You know, to me, coffee is pretty freaking great, no matter how you pour it. As long as it's sweet, strong(ish) and creamed with something, I'm pretty excited. Sadly, Starbucks hot coffees are kinda just that. Strong-ish coffees, creamed with something and heavily whip creamed (which I always request). Of the three drinks, the eggnog was by far the best. The other two were mild and didn't make me want to smack anyone with glee, while drinking them. I like the whole "Starbucks run" because I get something yummy to eat, along with a pretty, well-made coffee. Plus, Hula Boo gets to eat some of the whipped cream, which is basically as good as it gets for her. She may like it more than chicken.

But I think the deal with Starbucks is- it's kind of like B of A's. They're not the best bank, but they're FRICKIN EVERYWHERE. I load the lil coffee credit card, so I don't even have to have CASH on me, to get my injection. It's easy, fun and you know, I'm pretty sure if I'm in Siberia, I will still be able to get that vanilla latte, just by swiping my little card. that makes me happy.

I gots new blankies

Duuuude. Mom found me some awesome blankies at the 99 Cent Store! Cuddly and warm and yum!

Mom has kind of been bizzy w/ RubyLove and also doing transcriptions. Good for extra $$ and to keep heself afloat while the biz takes off. Slow but steady... She hasn't been cookin up much new. Any new recommended recipes from any of the 3 readears out there?

Auntie Amina suggested this and mom named it:

Sweet and Crunchy Chop-Chop

leafy greens (whatever you like)
chopped tomatoes
chopped cucumbers
chopped pears-
(fresh is best but you can used canned in a pinch)
craisins
shelled pistachios
crumbled feta (or gorgonzola if you don't like feta)

toss with vinaigrette and eat with fork or chopsticks

Mmmm...

Tangy, Spicy pasta salad!

Mmm... this one I can't throw out! I've had it for several days and it just seems to keep being yummy!

Pasta shells (or whatever. I like that shape best)
italian vinegarette dressing
chopped grapes
chopped natural almonds
raisins
cubed cheese
chopped pepperonccinis

What's so yummy is the combo of tastes, even though it kind of seems like a mish mash. Tangy, sweet, crunchy, a little spicy. Such a good melange.

Hula says- please give me cheese! I must be come more rotund!

We Like Totally Voted

There was a bunch of so-nice people at our polling place. They helped mom get her papers together and even gived me a sticker, so I didn't feel left out! One dude kept calling me Tinkerbell. I don't mind. Her mom may be a nasty fluff ball, but Tinks is a cutie. And what a wardrobe!

Puppy in the snow.

Mom and I took a tots long walk today. It was SUUUPER HAWT. I started panting on the long walk back and then made this move for about 2 hours:

Walks are fu-un, but wow, this weather! No way! I thought it was November! Cwazy.

Hula, Circa 1860

This looks to me, like an old picture you find in the attic. Cutie pie. Thank you Photoshop!

My lil girl looks all grownsed- OUT in this pic! Chub-a-roo! She's not this chubby. The camera adds two pounds.

This is a band I've been having fun with lately. The Prototypes. Fantastic indie-French-pop. I like to go on iTunes and listen for 30 seconds to new bands' tracks. It's currently, in my opinion, the best way to do it. But as far as buying... forget about it. Get the real thing! FEEL the disc in your hands! LOOK at the artwork the band put together for their release! SMELL the packaging! The experience can't be duplicated with a download!

Jack in the Astro

I was amused by our consumption of fast food, this evening. Something that looks like this picture... I just never really eat. Sometimes Taco Bell or Del Taco, but like, burgers wrapped up in paper? I got Astro Burger- veggie burger with soy cheese and soy mayo and avocado and fabulousness. Plus large fries. So fun. Eric however, wanted to get Jack, so I ended up experiencing another one of their shakes. Chocolated malted this time. Cripey, it was great!!!

Hula was amazed and mystified by the fact that you could drive up to a window and just have someone HAND you food. She got some veggie burger bites, but Eric wasn't sharing. It's cool. She doesn't share HER food with him.

The Good, the Bad and the Cupcake

I made the best treat I've ever mistakened apon, in my life, last night. I would put the recipe on a cutie pie recipe site, but I really just winged it, so the measurements might not be great. This is for Sela, cause she's uber-brave in the kitchen...

On stove, in pot:

wad of butter or margarine
bunch of chocolates i had in the fridge from like, the 99 cent store (mostly 1/2 finished Hershey's bars)
Big scoop of Nutella (of course)
Chunky p-nut butter (prolly 1/2 c)
big ole scoop of marshmallow fluff
melty, melty, melty. stir, stir, stir

Dry mix:

Cheerios
Other honey flakes cereal with almonds
"Sweet and Salty" trailmix (toffee coated almonds, dry roasted peanuts, peanut brittle, etc.)
crushed pretzels

Take it off the stove and mix it all about. Coat a pan w/ spray and spread in like rice krispies

It seemed like it was going to taste rad at that point, but the prob was, the color wasn't that pleasing to the eye. it was like the color of nougat. fun to eat, not that pretty. so then, i...

Back in a pot, on stove:

1/2 +, bag of Ghirardelli chocolate chips
more margarine

spread it all over top of yummy mix, that's already spread in pan. Frig-err-ate!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD Crazy tasty.
